Something new out of something old.
If you like big projects... renovate your kitchen! It took us 1 year and counting to get to our new kitchen. The existing materials were of good quality, our budget was limited, so we decided to simply transform what we already had.
We replaced some of the cabinets with wood floating shelves, painted the remaining cabinets white and changed the hardware. We opted for a pine floor instead of ceramic and got rid of the popcorn ceiling (yesssss!).
We salvaged a cabinet door, as well as some 2x4's that were lying around our house; then we built an island! Finally, we added wooden cabinet boxes up to the ceiling for more storage.
